Questions for healthy skin (1)

1- Which foods can help us keep our complexions radiant and healthy?

All fruits and vegetables are great sources of vitamins and antioxidant compounds.
I compiled a list of foods that are extremely good for healthy skin. These foods are high in vitamin C, beta-carotene and vitamin E (which is difficult to find enough of it in foods alone, although cooking oils, nuts, seeds and wheat germ all are good sources of vitamin E)

• ½ cup Broccoli (cooked) contains 37 mg. vitamin C and 1.0 mg. beta-carotene.
• 4 Brussels sprouts (cooked) contains 36 mg. vitamin C and 0.3 mg. beta-carotene.
• ¼ Cantaloupe contains 15 mg. vitamin C and 4.3 mg. beta-carotene.
• 1 Kiwi contains 89 mg. vitamin C and 0.1 mg. beta-carotene.
• 1 Orange contains 80 mg. vitamin C and 0.2 mg. beta-carotene.
• ½ Papaya contains 94 mg. vitamin C and 0.3 mg. beta-carotene.
• ½ cup Strawberry contains 42 mg. vitamin C.
• 1 Sweet potato (baked) contains 28 mg. vitamin C and 15 mg. beta-carotene.
• ½ cup Sweet red pepper contains 95 mg. vitamin C and 1.7 mg. beta-carotene.
• ½ cup Watermelon (cubed) contains 8 mg. vitamin C and 0.2 mg. beta-carotene.

These vitamins are not solo players they perform best when they are together.

2- Which supplements keep our skin hydrated and supple?

If you have been on an unhealthy diet for a long time and your body is seriously deprived of certain nutrients, supplements can help as a catalyst to better health and healthy skin by providing the necessary nutrients. These are some of the essential supplements: vitamin C, vitamin E and selenium, that help to combat free radicals when the skin is exposed to pollutant, free radicals are capable of attacking and damaging the cells in the body.
Spirulina; if you are on a mainly vegetarian diet, it is important to take this protein supplement it is rich in amino acids and many other natural vitamins and minerals, it also helps to detoxify the body.

3- Are there any foods that can help us avoid blotchy, flushed skin in the summer heat?

All the research found that those who ate the most carrots, tomatoes, fresh fruits and green vegetables were much less likely to get blotchy and flushed skin.
In fact, eating just three or more servings of carrots a week reduced the risk of blotchy by 35%, those who ate seven or more servings of tomatoes a week reduced their risk by 60% and those who had two servings a day of fresh fruits reduced their risk by 50%.
Also salmon is a particularly good choice because it’s high in omega- 3’s.
The antioxidant and immune-stimulating effects of these foods make the difference.
